Water shortages have become acute in many parts of the world, including some parts of the U.S. Jubilee’s three Circles in Mexico are all being hit hard and pray for rain. Conservation steps must be taken at a policy level. Individual efforts can go only so far to conserve water. Injustices in the distribution of water need to be addressed in Mexico and elsewhere.
Na ́ Xojobal works in comprehensive community development, addressing spiritual and social needs. At this moment we are still active in the 4 Axes of Work: WOMEN in COMMUNITY, SAVINGS BANKS, COMMUNICATION AND PASTORAL CARE.
Now, into the 3rd month of 2024, the opportunities in our 4 Jubilee Circles continue to expand. People seek out our accompaniment in their struggles and celebrations. “How can we fund the sensible projects Circles develop to meet the needs in their area?” That’s a question we ask ourselves daily. This letter tells you of three actions we are taking.
The medications that I usually buy are generic from Mexican laboratories since the patent medications whose laboratories are foreign are entirely out of the budget of the majority of the people of this town. The resource that JEM sends cannot cover the cost of the monthly supply for my office, but it is invaluable support.
