WHY TAKE THIS VALUABLE ONE-EARTH TRIP ABOUT ALTERNATIVES FOR LIVING?

 

We do not go to serve. We go to learn by seeing and hearing how the talented people in the Jubilee Circles create justice ministries that are to scale with what people need—especially the many people not served by the economy and other systems. The Circles do not tell people how to fix their problems. Instead, Circles accompany the people who together decide how to improve their lives. OneEarth Jubilee works with them to create alternatives that work justly and give life. The Mexico Circles teach our U.S. delegations so much about how people can be lifted from despair to abundant living that isn’t measured by wealth.

We also go because our colleagues in Mexico tell us how much it means to be able to share their creative work—their successes, stumbles, doubts, and faith. So we go with deep interest. Who they are and what they do challenges us to reflect on who we are and how we do life in our contexts. Together we seek to live within the abundant limits of one planet, a rich, evolving home.

 

UPCOMING TRIP:

We plan to travel in 2027. Sometimes people tell us they want to make the trip, so we schedule around that interest and availability.

Cost: $1800 for 8 days.

  • The OneEarth Journey helps us see ourselves from the perspective of another culture and to learn from people living in an economy that doesn’t work well for them.
  • Our Journey will be an immersion into what’s happening as people of various economic capacities, cultures, and spirituality mobilize to meet the global efforts to keep Earth from higher temps that scientists now agree is critical. This Journey helps build the mobilization for this massive ecological-economic-spiritual undertaking.
  • Build the movement so that our “leaders” will follow the way out of supersized MultiEarth ways into Earth-sized living.
  • Be in solidarity with those for whom the systems of civilization do not work. Solidarity is an important step in saying “No” to the abuse by governments and transnational corporations and “Yes” to OneEarth ways. The more the powers that rule seek to isolate us from one another, the more our interconnectedness matters.
